Juneau hiker found dead after apparent fall

JUNEAU -- A 30-year-old New York man has died in an apparent accident while hiking
on the Herbert Glacier trail system near Juneau.
Alaska State Troopers Sgt. Tim Birt tells radio station KINY that the body of Adam
Webb, of Hampton Bays, N.Y., was found Tuesday on a rock face adjacent to the glacier
by a search helicopter.
The cause of death wasn't immediately known. However, troopers say it's probable
Webb slipped in rough terrain and fell off a bluff.
Webb was reported missing after he didn't report to work at Coastal Helicopters
in Juneau. The company, according to its website, offers guided dog sled rides and
helicopter glacier tours.
